Wash Park: Setting the agenda for the future
Perhaps the most popular regional park in Denver, Washington Park attracts people from throughout the city and the region. Washington Park is also one of the City’s historically significant parks and landscapes. To ensure that Washington Park continues to meet the needs of the people who use it now – and in the future – as well as to maintain the manmade and natural features that define it, Denver’s Department of Parks and Recreation has initiated a yearlong master plan process for the park. The primary objective of this master plan is to create a sustainable park vision that incorporates preservation of the park’s landscape character, historic structures and features, evaluation of park uses and the visitor experience, and provides prioritized recommendations for park preservation, restoration, and management that will ultimately enhance the visitor experience in this treasured park.
This website is intended to provide information about the planning process and gather input from a wide range of stakeholders, including the general public. Check back often to follow the plan’s progress and to learn how you can get involved.
